Mobile Gladiators Make Their Mark: PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2023

The Gaimin Gladiators historical year of esports dominance continued with the introduction of the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2023. Taking place in the wonderful world of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and with a massive prize pool of 3 million dollars (combined with both the all-stars and main event) eyes were widened combining the best teams in PUBG Mobiles esports ecosystem. Qualifying via the PMPL Europe; the pro league for the best Europe has to offer in the always entertaining battle royale Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds the team took flight to one of the largest tournaments PUBG Mobile has to offer.

The Gaimin Gladiators early tournament lives began in the Allstars stage hosting 18 teams from varying regions vying for 6 spots in hopes of the massive 2 million dollar main stage tournament. Being the one of two European representatives at this year's World Invitational, the Gladiators had the die hard European fans behind them and the Russian led Gaimin Gladiators definitely showcased Europe profoundly. Amalgamated into 17 rounds, combining total kills and placement points, the Gladiators ran their course in the Allstars round with high hopes of qualifying to the tournament's main event stage. After three 4th place finishes, three 3rd place finishes, a round 16 1st place alongside massive 12, 9 and 7 kill games, the Gladiators continued their Riyadh World Invitational with 124 total points and an exceptional 4th place overall ending their Allstars segment in immaculate fashion.

The main event provided 16 of the best teams in PUBG Mobile, with many hopefuls looking to win the astonishing $432,500 first place prize and title of being the best team in PUBG Mobile. The Gaimin Gladiators steadied their course, looking to continue the Allstars early dominance with plenty more implications on the line this time around. Regardless of the pressure and implications, the European Gaimin Gladiators looked like a well oiled machine. With five 4th place finishes, a 2nd and 3rd place finish alongside collective 5, 8 and 9 kill score games the Gladiators proved to be a consistent contender. With the grueling and intensive world of battle royales, unfortunate circumstances came to fruition. After 4 successful 1st placements by Thailand's Vampire Esports, and the consistent sustained play of China’s Six Two Eight; the Gladiators with plenty of promise fell just short with a concise and respectful 3rd place podium finish.

The Gaimin Gladiators have always shown true grit and determination especially this 2023 season. The always prominent PMPL European Gaimin Gladiators have shown they have what it takes to be the best, and with a successful 3rd place finish, look to the future in hopes of more PUBG Mobile titles to come. Massive thank you to the fans, and the array of love they’ve provided to our PUBG Mobile team alongside the organization as a whole. We look forward to continuing our dominance in the PMPL Europe in the very near future.
